Columbine
It's so much easier to make Gardens look good in Photographs...
...than in reality. For example, these columbines, which I purchased (along with so many of my other plants) at the Eastern Market, survived, more or less, planted in a sunken chimney pot, plagued by the usual leaf miners (so common to this species) and lack of sun (the bane of nearly all my garden) for some years; but they died last year for good, and now exist only in this image.
