I'm not normally into these soft pastels, but I had all this glass to use up, so I started playing with it, thinking in terms of series, after a friend suggested that sets would sell to shops just as well as to retail. Oh, in that case, I thought, why not?
Just for kicks, I decided to photograph these beads on a white background—both on a plate, as shown here, and translucent white plexi, as shown in some of the individual samples.
But in fact my partner liked my throwaway color scheme so much she wanted the beads, and requested a heart focal to go with:
So these gravity swirl beads are striped, and they're even hollow, but the stripes are surface applied, as opposed to being part of the original construction. Part of a series (and also indexed as such) of beads in a variety of techniques made using a pastel bullseye palette. Originally posted...
