After completing two big (i.e. 5.5 inch diameter) projects, I was ready for smaller things—stuff that could perhaps be more easily used as some sort of applique, or sold. And in fact, the piece depicted is half of a pair, and the other one did sell in 2012, confirming my intuition for when I made this stuff.
Bead embroidery. fabric, nylon thread, amethyst, fluorite, freshwater pearls, swarovski crystals, vintage/czech glass, seed beads, artisan lampwork mini-hollows. 2" in diameter.
And just to show how tastes differ, the customer chose her favourite—and left me mine:) I'm especially fond of the fancy faceted bead with the gold fuming, a gift from my friend Page.
The photography is not the best, but perhaps one day I'll reshoot the piece.
