Here are three images of Cinder, whose fur providentially tones with neutral coloured carpeting:) Cinder has a special place in my heart because I've cat-sitted him, and was involved in training him to walk on a lead (and tolerate baths;)
Such a classic pose! rotated, cropped in gimp; sony A7c, sony 90mm macro, ev +1.7, f/2.8, 1/160s, ISO 100, WB: daylight shot Feb 2026
Cinder is the cat of my workout partner and kayaking teacher, who has recently moved several states away, so seeing (& photographing) him is now a special occasion. I took these photos for his person[1] who kindly gave me permission to post them publicly; I think we both feel the world, especially now, can't have too many kittypix.
N.b., click on any image for a nice sharp full size version;) I s'pose I should have image-edited out the reflection of the photographer in the lower half of his eyes, but I was too lazy.
I guess the cute tongue sticking out is called a mlem?
[1]And, let's be honest here, for meeeee
