Nuttal's Larkspur
are really complicated

This notecard was originally I planned as a bouquet of the sort of flowers native to the recipient's region. I like drawing flowers, and the recipient enjoys hiking and seeing them. Unfortunately she's having some health issues that prevent much hiking, so this was to be a sort of substitute. Blue flowers are rare in the wild, and I myself am very fond of delphiniums, so I started with this one—which proved to be so complex that I only drew these two blooms.

I find drawing flowers to be absolutely the best way to learn how they're put together, and made some interior[1] sketches that show the structures a little more clearly.
