New moon & Venus
plus Jupiter. And frog. And swallowtail...

I'm not much of a landscape photographer, and this isn't a very good picture,[1] but the subject—a new moon's horns framing Venus (with Jupiter off to the left) was spectacular.

Also I spotted this really cool frog. It might be a leopard frog. At any rate, it's the first time I've ever seen one so green, or with spots.

frog. It wasn't very big, probably less than 75mm, certainly less than 100mm (4 inches).

I identified a new wildflower, hoary puccoon! And while I was painting a little patch of it, this rather ragged butterfly visited, and I took a few pix.
