Snow
on trees

We got some proper snow, perhaps 4–5 inches, and it was beautiful while falling, so off I went to take pictures. Fog is the traditional way to get great background blur, but snowstorms work as well, plus you get a bit of drama, if the flakes are large, as here.

This lot was taken with a sony ILCE-7C and a lensbaby sweet 35 lens.

snow-laden trees; lightened & colour corrected to taste (i.e. I took out some of the blue).

Since the lensbaby is a completely manual lens, I have no idea what f-stop I was using, but I did have the EV set +0.7 (not enough, really) and the ISO for both 100 (totally wasted with this lens, of course.)

They were taken 25jan23, around 15:40, with shutter speeds roughly in the 1/1000 to 1/1500s range (I had the camera set to aperture priority, which is my go-to if not shooting completely in manual.)
