At some class or other, the teacher was all about mashing dots flat (as in the focal for this mouse) and sold a 1/4" (or mebbe 3/16") flush-cut graphite cylinder chucked in a handle that you could use to flatten dots, on the theory that this was more precise than the side of a knife blade, because you could push straight down.

Pretty sure this bead was a test or experimentation with that tool, and as you see with the biggest purple dot along the top of the focal, I suck at centering dots. I was thinking I got this tool & the technique at the Amy Waldman class, but I took that in 2013 —not that the bead couldn't’ve sat around 3 years before I got around to mousing it!

Haley Tsang perhaps? I took a class from her, and she also does slow, cold dot techniques, and I think that was somewhat more recent...Kristina Logan is old school, and kind of a minimalist—she likes to make large dots by cutting them

The avocado green scrolled bead ear the end of the rightmost tail is a reactive glass^[1] test, the sort of thing I encountered when Sarah Sally Legrand taught at my friend Cindi B's house.

Anyway—it's a purple and green mouse! How awesome is that?
